Sri Lanka Crisis
CWS is calling for urgent support for the civilians displaced by the conflict in Sri Lanka. Now that the fighting is over between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and the government in north- eastern Sri Lanka, the priority must be meeting the needs of Tamils without home or livelihood. Many of them are traumatised by the months of vicious fighting and dependent on outside sources of relief supplies. They have no belongings or resources and the demand is overwhelming the already overcrowded camps. The immediate priority is food, shelter and medical care. CWS partners are already responding.
