Verse 3:
Flood ravaged Auckland
flash floods and land slides
4 people lost their lives
a state of emergency
adverse weather conditions
phrases like La Nina
to climate change
recovery rebuild inflationary
suffering Puapuaga, Mamae, Faingata’a.
Verse 4:
Pasifika families,
communities, and nations
again facing living
the realities of life struggles
being low income, the poor, the homeless, the marginalised the disenfranchised
the powerless
but Atua’s loving Fa’afoaga, Hanganga, Fakatupu creation.
Verse 5:
Once
again Aiga Whanau
Famili families
arose to the challenges
being fully human
through the pain and suffering
mindful of a crucified Christ
a loving God Atua Ariki Otua
Alofa Aroha Agape.

founded on God’s mercy, grace, and agape.

Youth
Once again
life sucks
harsh expectations
overcrowding poverty
looking after siblings
wandering the streets
angry at the world
not many options
hopelessness.

*Te Reo Maori: Rangatahi youth young people.
*Systemic institutional racism permeates its evil especially amongst our young people who are in despair, hurting and angry.

Matua
Loving parents
face the daunting task
of rebuilding shattered lives
again another struggle
but deep within hope
founded upon love
emerges revealing
life sucks but Atua calls
us to our tomorrow Fa’amanuiaga.

our Ngati Human Tribe Atua calls us
to be the salt to be the light again…
LIGHT AND SALT POEMENTARY:
*Biblical O.T. text Exodus 13:21 Atua provides the light and N.T. Matthew 5:13-14 salt and light empowers us to be faith people of influence and impact.
