Today we received a message from Nada Abu Amaha, National Director of our partner the Department of Service to Palestinian Refugees:
Our dear Partners and Friends
We greet you in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and want to share with you this short update:
In this special time of the year and around 5 hours ago, in the first hours of this day, Wednesday 27th of March 2024, the Israeli vicious war on Gaza continues and the attacks on Rafah have intensified. A huge bombardment took place very close to our clinic in Rafah, the place where the Middle East Council of Churches’ Department of Service to Palestinian Refugees is offering medical services and mental health and psychosocial support to an average of 500 patients a day. This clinic has been impacted, some doors blown up, the same with windows. Some of the equipment in the medical lab has been impacted and other impacts affected the building.
Today the clinic’s building will be under evaluation. We declared the closure of the clinic for today to be able to evaluate and repair the damage and to resume our mission with the people who are exposed to the unprecedented pain humans can witness.
Our staff, our heroes, are safe but a few hours ago the family of one of our leading members in the emergency response team lost his aunt and 18 members of her family in another airstrike in Rafah.
We ask all our partners, friends and supporters to pray for the end of this war and the safety of the people of Gaza, especially our staff, while they are jeopardizing their safety and security to help the needy people there.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalms 16:8

If you can, please make an Easter gift for the people of Gaza.
Kairos Palestine
“For many years, Kairos Palestine has issued an Easter Alert to our friends around the globe. We have described the effects of Israel’s brutal occupation, exposed its laws, policies and practices amounting to the international crime of apartheid, and called the church—through Scripture, reflections and prayer—to join us in insisting on our human rights and the right to determine our future. Your solidarity has helped sustain us.
“But this year, the genocidal war and humanitarian crisis in Gaza compels us to issue an Easter Appeal for your financial support as well as your prayers, advocacy and lobby for the people of Gaza—our Muslim and Christian siblings suffering the physical, emotional, structural and cultural effects of a growing genocide on the part of the State of Israel. We are sharing the names of three respected Palestinian organizations, the staffs of which are present in Gaza addressing the physical and psychological needs of the people there. We boldly seek your generous financial support for the work of these trusted, effective organizations.”
Please read the Kairos Palestine Easter Alert.
Donations to our Gaza Palestine Emergency Appeal will be sent to DSPR to assist some of the many, many families in need.
