Many people believe that after oil, water will be the next big war-provoking issue, as ever more pressure is put on scarce resources and big business endeavours to take control of its distribution. Where poverty is rife this would mean a death-sentence for people who could no longer afford it. In Sri Lanka the centuries-old tradition of rice-growing is particularly at risk, which would drive millions of people off the land. The documentary shows how the people are fighting back.*
