CWS has produced resources for youth and children’s groups. They will help encourage young people to study development, global poverty and the work of CWS.
Youth Topics
A colourful poster designed for youth workers to use with young people aged 12-18. Youth Topics uses games, activities, discussion starters, quizzes and worship material to get young people interested in global issues and make the connections with our lives in Aotearoa New Zealand. It suggests actions to take in the campaign for a fairer world. Topics have included sports shoe manufacturing, refugees, rubbish, water and chocolate. More Here.
World Watch
A magazine for 7-13 year olds, with stories and fun activities on global issues featuring Karin the Caring Kiwi. It is accompanied by a leaders’ resource kit. Topics include water, the Solomon Islands, disasters and Timor Leste. More

We are fearless: DVD and resource kit for Year 7-10 students.
Encourage your students to extend their understanding and develop critical thinking about the causes and effects of poverty, community development, the Indian caste system, collective action for change, the role of women in developing countries and participatory democracy.
This resource has been developed by Friends of Madurai Women’s Development Resource Centre for teachers of Years 7 to 10 students. The resource kit includes the DVD Now We are Fearless, nine colourful fact sheets and over thirty teaching activities to provide students with English and Social Science learning experiences at levels 3, 4 and 5 of the New Zealand curriculum framework. Links are also made in teaching activities to the students’ own experiences and NZ society.
Now We are Fearlessis a half hour documentary made by New Zealanders about CWS partner The Women’s Development Resource Centre. In this, untouchable women in South India tell inspirational stories of the effectiveness of collective action in their fight against injustice and discrimination. Now many have the confidence to stand for political office.
