Thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Operation Refugee. You have risen to the challenge. In Auckland, Anglican young people walked to Petra in Jordan under lockdown. Others have limited their food budget or shared meals with friends. Together you raised over $32,000 to provide education, medical care and emergency food for refugees in Jordan and Lebanon. Thank you! It’s not too late – contact David if you have something in the pipeline.
Climate Justice is urgent. General Secretary of the Pacific Conference of Churches Rev James Bhagwan has arrived in Scotland with a message for climate justice. He is taking our prayers and Pacific voices to COP26, critical climate talks. CWS volunteer Meghan Stewart Ward has prepared a backgrounder so you know what is at stake. We encourage you to pray for a good outcome and take action. Photo: PCC
A Blessing came to us. Our Spring Story is from René and his family in Nicaragua. They were delighted to receive emergency food parcels and seeds after last year’s double hurricanes. Along with other small farmers, they expressed thanks for these deliveries from CEPAD (Consejo de Inglesias Evangelicas Pro-Alianza Denominacional or Council of Protestant Churches) funded in part with your donations. René has recently planted more seeds that he hopes will continue to feed the family through Covid-19. Please support our Spring Appeal so people can grow the food they need.
Joy and Justice is the theme for this year’s Christmas Appeal. The resources will be posted this week. Please order posters, envelopes and envelopes here or call Jordyn on 0800 74 73 72. Photo: ACT Alliance/Paul Jeffrey
