Volunteers
CWS relies on the support of many volunteers and we need your help!
In Otautahi Christchurch, you could join our team working on appeal mailouts or do specialist tasks at the national office.
We have many volunteering opportunities at CWS. You can get involved in anything from helping run an event, becoming a CWS Church Link person; to using your specialist skill. Volunteering for CWS means you are working with others who are committed to overcoming poverty and suffering, and helping make a difference.
We are very happy to hear from:
• Students looking for a course placement, internship or work experience.
• People who are between jobs.
• Retired people.
• Those with a special interest/skill.
• Anybody who can commit to a few hours a week.
Prospective volunteers will be interviewed. New volunteers will have professional and management support.
CWS Church Link Person
If you belong to a local church, consider volunteering as the CWS Church Link. Talk it over with your minister or someone on the parish council/vestry/leaders’ meeting.
You will share news and stories in your parish. A CWS Church Link finds the best way to promote the Christmas Appeal envelopes, pass on news of special appeals, hand out resources, encourage the use of CWS prayers and slides, advertise events, or organise a special fundraising event. Some CWS Church Links write materials for church bulletins or speak to the congregation – material is available in our two monthly CWS Update or on this website. You can contact the office for extra information or to share feedback. It’s not difficult. You’ll be a vital and valued part of our team, working together to end poverty and injustice.
